Battling Your Day Job
One of the biggest issues I see with my clients is the “busyness” of running their companies on a day-to-day basis. In Chris McChesney’s book, The 4 Disciplines of Execution, he calls this the “daily whirlwind” which is the massive amount of energy it takes to keep your business running.
But this focus on day-to-day activities has its costs:
- You sacrifice the long-term by wearing too many hats today
- How many tasks can you delegate so you can focus on the bigger picture?
- The “whirlwind” mitigates your number one advantage – nimbleness. It’s hard to be proactive when your bogged day in day-to-day tasks.
